Lives and works in London
Dominic's visually arresting graphic style is a meld of long held interests and learnt techniques. His interest in pop sensibilities and tribal iconography are apparent in his dynamic drawings.
He attempts to create an intense visual experience through the use of bold block colour and rhythmic outlines. Abstract images pulse and spin on a completely flat plane. Compositions are collaged and pushed together until they become successful studies for larger works. These works tend to break out of their original rectangular format and grow with new unfamiliar shapes.
Dominic's use of historically masculine, manufactured materials such as resin, steel and aluminium, reference the cold Abstract Art of pioneers like Frank Stella and John McCracken, but the delicacy of his line work and composition implies a human touch, reminiscent of decorative elements within native American artwork.
